Grinham Architects is seeking Architectural Technologists for construction document support.

Full time positions available.

About our firm:

For nearly 30 years our small firm has been practicing in Guelph & the surrounding areas.  We do a wide range of work including multi-residential, institutional, public & private projects.  Our goal is to create buildings that are aesthetically satisfying, environmentally sustainable and financially responsible.

Responsibilities will consist of:

  • Preparation of Permit, Tender and Construction Drawings based on schematic design material provided. Drawing requirements could include preparation of technical floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details etc. Coordination of architectural drawings with provided mechanical / electrical / structural drawings could be required;

  • Reviewing design drawings for conformance with the Ontario Building Code including
    Parts 3, 9, SB-10 & SB-12;

  • Managing & organizing digital drafting files;

  • Preparing As-Built drawings;

  • Working closely with senior staff & updating the above material as required.

Candidate attributes and qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a team player, organized, and detail oriented.

The following qualifications/attributes are preferred:

  • A diploma in Architectural Technology (or equivalent), or be nearing completion of this diploma (or equivalent);

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD;

  • Ability to multi-task, or be able to switch between and work on several projects simultaneously;

  • Ability to take direction and identify appropriate resources to solve problems;

  • A team-player with a strong work ethic;

  • Cheerful attitude & good interpersonal skills.
