Working closely with the County of Wellington, a feasibility study was developed that compared options between constructing a new facility opposed to renovating their existing buildings. The outcome resulted in delivering an effective and efficient design solution to a complex set of client and user needs that included a durability and serviceability requirements along with a comfortable and pleasing office environment.
Completed in 2012, the $4.1 million project was constructed to replace and consolidate multiple exhausted facilities with a single Central Works location that provides the latest Municipal vehicle maintenance and service technology. The 20,480sf building includes a large Pre-Engineered structure with multiple service, prep, repair and wash bays along with a two storey office component for administrative functions, staff lunch and training areas and consideration for future County Data Centre facilities.
